The crossword of numbers
Kakuro is sometimes called the crossword of numbers. Instead of letters, you fill white cells with digits 1 through 9.
The gray cells contain clue numbers. A diagonal line splits each gray cell from the top-left corner to the bottom-right corner:
β’ A number in the top-right triangle = how much the white cells to the right must add up to (across).
β’ A number in the bottom-left triangle = how much the white cells below must add up to (down).
β’ Some cells only have one number β it will be in the correct corner to show you which direction it applies to.
For example, a clue of 6 across three cells could be 1+2+3. But you cannot repeat a digit in the same run β so 2+2+2 is not allowed.
Click a white cell, then tap a number. Use β Notes to jot possibilities without committing. Press Submit when done!
